State Rep. Stephen Huffman, R-Tipp City, is going for another term in 2016.
Huffman represents the 80th district which includes all of Miami and southern Darke County.
“I have greatly enjoyed the first term in office. We have lowered taxes, passed education reform and reduced government regulations,” he said Monday. “I look forward to being reelected to continue to work on the Ohio House 2020 plan and the four pillars of health care, education, energy and competitiveness.’
A 1983 graduate of Milton-Union High School, Rep. Huffman attended the University of Toledo on a football scholarship. He then earned a medical degree from the Medical College of Ohio (now the University of Toledo, School of Medicine).
He was elected Miami County coroner in 2012.
