Newsmax’s list of the 30 most influencial Republicans under 30 includes state Rep. Niraj Antani, R-Miami Twp., and Bristol Palin, daughter of former vice presidential candidate Sarah Palin.
Antani landed in the number 2 spot on the list and garnered this write-up: “Last year, at age 23, Antani won elected office as the representative of the 42nd district in the Ohio House of Representatives. Previous to that, he was the communications director for the Ohio State University College Republicans during the 2012 presidential election, and chaired the Young Americans for Romney in Ohio.”
Number one on the list is New Britain, Conn. Mayor Erin Stewart and in the number three slot is Saira Blair, who became the youngest state legislator in the country when she won a race for the West Virginia House of Delegates as a college student. Bristol Palin, who Newsmax put fifth on the list, is an author, blogger, mother and sometimes reality television star.
Antani, 24, is the youngest member currently serving in the Ohio General Assembly.
“I sincerely appreciate Newsmax naming me to this honor,” Antani said in a written statement. “I am fighting every day for young people across Ohio to ensure every young person can get an affordable education and a good paying job.”
